Abstract: Social media marketing leverages multiple information channels to deliver content, engage with customers, and build community. With ever-new tools and evolving platforms on the market, learn how to select the right services for your organization, determine the types of content that are useful to share, develop and manage library social media marketing efforts over time, and assess and plan for next steps and scalability. This workshop will combine theory, case studies, real-time examples, and hands-on exercises. Be prepared to share examples from your own library and create a social media action plan.

WS4 | Introduction to Project Management for Libraries

Learning Objectives: In this hands-on workshop, learn the basic theories and practice of project management for library projects.
Abstract: Working on real-life projects of their own choosing, workshop participants will learn and practice the key concepts and techniques for planning, organizing, managing, and completing projects in a library setting. Using simple, freely-available tools, attendees will leave the workshop with a project charter– including a scope statement, deliverables, and milestones–as well as a project plan specifying tasks on a timeline and assigned resources. This workshop will also touch on related topics such as agile project management and portfolio management.
